It’s happened to the best of us. Drew Barrymore, Angelina Jolie, even Kate Moss dabbled with the ‘90s ultra thin one-line brow. But, of course now everyone wants a full set of Cara’s to frame their face, and this can be hard when you’ve been pluck happy for the past decade. So, how do you get your brows back?
The first thing to do is… nothing. Really. Steve advises his clients to leave their brows alone for two to three months to allow them to grow back in. If you want a new, thicker shape, only clear the most obvious hairs in between the brows or right down on the lid area. Yes, you will have to go through the awkward semi-grown brow stage but it will be worth it in the end. Of course we don’t want you to look unkempt, so using a brow stencil and pencil, will help evenly blend in any gaps and also get your eye used to a new, thicker shape in the interim.
The whole process leading to “brow-wow” can take as little as three months or even up to two years! During this process you’ll need patience and honesty from your brow-sculptor. At Brows by Steve, honesty is something you can always rely on. If he can genuinely see no growth rebuilding under the magnifying glass, he won’t keep insisting you grow it – he’ll suggest the next option!
If you are one of the unlucky few who has brows beyond growth repair feather brow tattooing may be an option for you. Gone are the days when facial tattoos meant block shapes in severe expressions. In contrast the new feather tattoos can look completely natural. It mimics the real brow hair and can be individually customized, depending on your brow colour and needs.
Although Brows by Steve does not currently offer a brow tattooing service, he is happy to recommend an artist with a similar aesthetic if the brows cannot be repaired naturally.
